In 1957 the statue of Titus Brandsma by sculptor Theo van der Nahmer was placed in front of the Titus Brandsma Lyceum in Oss.

This school was started in 1923 by the Carmelite Fathers, with Father Titus Brandsma as the driving force. To this end, they were able to dispose of the villa that margarine manufacturer Jan Jurgens (1835-1913) left as an inheritance. It was initially only an HBS-B. In 1940 an HBS-A department was added, and in 1947 a Gymnasium department. In 1948 the original name “Carmel College” was changed to “Titus Brandsmalyceum,” after the founder of the school bar
